On Friday, October 18th, 2019, I will always remember this special day. Why? That's because we held a charity sale at Xi'an Dehong. Love charity is to sell their own re-using books and toys and then use the money to help those in need. I was excited about this!
One day in advance I prepared selling things with mom and dad ready at home: toy cubs, Transformers, books, and a lot of things, we stick the price of these things together. Mathematics teacher also taught us to know the RMB, everything we want to buy needed money, I thought shopping meant parents' mobile phones "scan" the QR code, I had been looking for where the mobile phones can hide money, I really am a little fool.

The event officially began, we were organized by HOUSE, soon we were assigned tasks. "We have cute dolls here, come and see!" our team vendors shouted, but at first it was not loud enough, no one came and visited. So we raised the sound, then a group of people flocked to our stalls, and bought a lot of things so that our box was full of money. I didn't only sell a lot of things, but also bought gifts for my family, a cartoon ring for my mother, pig doll for my sister, as well as a car to my father, I wanted to thank my mom and dad to bring me a happy life.
At last, my teacher said that I was awesome. Just like our school motto: our love will warm others, my words will affect others. Through this activity, I have got the meaningful experience.

Head of Elementary:
On Friday October 18th, 2019, Dehong Xi'an students participated in our 1st Volunteer Day. The goals for the day were for students were to increase their awareness about helping others, build our community spirit and cooperate in their four House teams.
Students learned about others in China who are less fortunate than them and why we were raising money to help others. Students then bought and sold the used/unwanted things they had brought in and collected the money for their House.
In total, we raised 1861.2 RMB which we will donate to Child Rescue Center. Also, we will send the collected items that were not bought.
Selling and re-using toys, games, and other things that students did not want has also improved sustainability. Students will use the things we bought and we will continue to use what was learned Friday to improve students’ understanding of sustainability.
